Sometimes I think maybe the title theme of this blog was a bit ambitious. Maybe I should have chosen something more down to earth and like Jen Zug at The Pile I'm Standing In.
"What I’ve come to realize is that all human beings are standing in a pile of shit that is their life, their past, their sin, their baggage. You can shovel it all you want in denial, you can plug your nose and try to ignore it, you can plant pretty flowers on it so no one notices what you’re standing in – but the fact of the matter is that YOU ARE STANDING IN A PILE OF SHIT.
"My writing is simply the honest testimony to the pile I happen to be standing in."
However, ...
However, the image of life being an endless effort of shovelling shit reminds me of the battle scene at the opening of the The Final Quest by Rick Joyner:
"As the darkness of the demons dissipated we could see the ground moving around the feet of these Christians. Then I saw that their legs were bound by serpents. As I kept looking at the serpents I saw that they were all the same kind, and had the name Shame written on them."
The Final Quest Rick Joyner
So I think just being resigned to remaining in our personal pile is accepting that we stay in the place where we are a plaything of demons. They continue to spit and pee on us. We end up fighting the wrong battle, instead of heading for salvation at the foot of the white mountain.
Yes, it is a struggle. In fact it is war. It is a daily decision to recommit. But we have to get out of the shit into the light otherwise we're dead.
